Has anyone had their 200-2006 Tahoe or Yukon stolen? I'm wondering if these are easy SUV's to steel since they are popular and parting one out would be profitable for those in that "business".

I'd like to know what I can do to make sure mine doesn't end up in pieces? Is the factory theft protection good? Does anyone have an aftermarket alarm? Would the old school CLUB that goes on the steering wheel work, or at least slow them down in my driveway or at work until I can get to my rifle.

Reality is, an alarm doesnt do squat. how many times have you walked thru a parking lot at the mall and hear a car alarm go off, and dont turn around to see where its coming from. People are immune to them now, unless it happens RIGHT next to you.

These are very easy to steal, we deal with theft recoveries all the time. You can attempt to deter it, or have good insurance. if you attempt to deter it, they will just **** it up worse, itll need a lot of body work, and youll have wished they just stole it. Same thing with wheel locks. Stupid to spend $50-$100 on wheel locks when the locks are just as easy to remove as a regular lug. If somebody wants it, theyre going to take it.

I pull the starter fuse, so the only way they can steal it is with a tow truck

Look up bump theft.

Our lovely Gm vehicles dont have steering wheel locks anymore.
Theif, pops handle with flatnead screwdriver. Opens door, then rips gear shifter down into neutral and a accomplice pushes the npw stolen vehicle with another or tows it with our nifty tow hooks.

Takes less than 20 seconds and they are gone.

Well it just happened to our 03 !
He got in just like Edzaar described
Tossed about the contents of the console and glove box
Opened back took (150 piece) tool set, a lunch box size air compressor, oh and about $5 in quarters
Not after car but rather a quick sale item (probably a junkie after $ for a fix)
Idiot left the $500 radar detector and $$$ sun glasses and most thankfull he didn't grab garage door remote

Is there an aftermarket reinforcement for the door handle bezel?
