I had some used Kicker door speakers laying around, so I installed them in my rear doors. 20180311_143936.jpg
One side sounded good, but the other sounded like it was vibrating. I pulled them and put a different set in, but I noticed this in the center cone:20180311_153754.jpg

Both speakers were that way but only 1 was vibrating.

They were the right price--FREE, lol. Where the tweeter pokes through the cone. In the midfle pic you can see it much better.

there designed that way so the woofer can move, it is a 2 way speaker, your standard woofer just has a dust cap, on this design they changed the center to accommodate the tweeter.

Those Kickers can make some decent sound for the price,..especially YOUR price,... the space between the cone and the tweeter is supposed to be there to allow the base cone to move. If you getting a vibration check the tweeter housing, the grille, or even the mounting surface,.. a thin strip of foam between the rim of the speaker and the mounting surface may cure the vibration. Also, while holding the speaker in your hand you can lightly tap on the bass cone and you should get a very solid and tight thud,.. you can sometimes tell if a speaker is blown by doing this test. Compare to the other one.
