UPDATE on DASH.

Well apparently my local Chevrolet dealer is Badass. The service manager approved a new dash for me :fishing1:

---------- Post added at 10:52 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:33 AM ----------

Because I LOVE the TYF community soooo much, and since everyone is so scared at thought of replacing, and replacement in general.....

I thought to take pictures. I did not wait to see them pull it out, as I could not stay long (appointment), but when I tugged on the dash it was loose, and one could easily tell it was just a matter of lifting it off.

The steering column and floor center console do not come out. The dash seems more or less a "cap" on the dash bulkhead.

I am getting a Esky dash as a replacement.

LOL JUST KIDDING. :gathering:

The Suburban one is enough for me :)

An 09 can be out of warranty if it's over 36k miles.

Wow out of warranty and dealership still did it? Now THAT's good service. Wish all GM dealerships were like that but that is now far and few between these days.

Yes, when they said yes.... I was Thank you Lord. I have seen pictures of the others, and it is not pretty when they continue to crack. I suppose one is fine, but when it starts cracking all over.......

A lot of these trucks will be looking really bad in a few years..... I am sure it will be on forums for years and years to come. There are Millions of Suburbans and Tahoes on the road.

I got saved, but my sympathies go out to all those that got screwed by GM.

And I say it again (AND I KNOW A LOT OF YOU GUYS MAKE FUN OF IT), protect that dash from the UV rays of the sun with a dashmat.

It may not be everyone's cup of tea, I personally think that the correct velour dashmat in a matching color looks great on the dash. Now if you get the same material they had 25 years ago that looks like carpet, it looks like sh*t.

However, I prefer the look of a matching dashmat any day over the look of a cracked dash.

I agree with you now, though I never made fun of you....
