You guys misunderstood ...

I didn't mean sex on account of a roof rack, I meant sex with a roof rack.

Apologies for any confusion.

Dash crack.

I wish they would go back to using the soft vinyl foam dashes like in the Town Cars. The stuff could crack underneath all day long but you would never see it.

Oh yes, I drove Town Cars too. Add that to the Astro list.

Sorry to hear this happened, your right, sux when it happen to yourself though.

I've a question to anyone, I've read about this issue, but not seen any Denali's having this issue, I ask, because of owning one, but also, to see if this reinforces the tinted front screen argument, since the Denali's have this as standard.

Would be intrested in opinions gents..

Cheers POLO.

It should be a safety concern. When it cracks on the right side of the dashboard, the jagged edge could cause the airbag to deflate even before it finishes inflating in the event of a serious crash. Hopefully, some day, the government will view it as a safety issue. That's my 2 cents worth.....

You definitely don't know much about chemistry, do you? Airbags are deployed when 2 dry elements are combined and they cause an exothermic reaction to occur. The reaction is so violent that an airbag can deploy at a rate of 150-200mph. Good luck on that deflation theory. As for the 2 elements that are combined, don't worry you're safe. They are actually the same 2 elements that make up the powder people see after an airbag is deployed.

If you want to see some fun videos about exothermic reactions search YouTube for videos on what happens when you combine a small amount of pure sodium (Na) with water (H2O).
