.....are shock extenders a necessity? I put on my drop today at my buddy's house and I forgot the extenders. I did a 2-3/4 with the nitros and BT5323 springs. Everything went together fine and it seems to ride fine. What can go wrong if I never put them in?

I believe shock extenders are intended for 4" and larger drops kits. If it rides fine and the shocks aren't bottoming out adding extenders would not make much of a difference/be of much benefit, if any.

It's also largely based on ur shocks. With my 2" rear drop I ran extenders because I was running a stock size shock. Now that I'm at 2/4 I'm NOT running extenders because I got a shock so that I wouldn't have to run extenders. IMHO don't run extensions if you don't have to. It's just another thing that may cause extra squeaking eventually
