For ‘24, the Silverado ZR2 will get the LZ0 Duramax, which just might mean that part of the '24 refresh for the SUV platform will also include the LZ0 Duramax available on AT4 and Z71 trims - Hmmm... :)

Maybe? The AT4 was actually the trim I wanted originally. But I read that it was physically impossible since the skid plate location interferes with the intercooler. Maybe the physical update changes that? I’d go back to wanting an AT4 if LZ0 was an option in a heartbeat!

Oh! The second video kinda lays it out about the physical layout. Fingers crossed!

The off-road versions of the Silverado/Sierra previously offered a Duramax option. Haven't heard that the LZ0 version of the Duramax included a redesign of the intercooler that Steebu mentioned. Unless there is a redesign of the front end for the SUV mid-cycle, I'm not holding out a lot of hope that the SUV versions will be shoehorning the LZ0 in there. I know that I'd be driving an AT4 Yukon right now if I could have gotten the LM2 in there. It would be the perfect swiss army knife vehicle for my needs.

I think the point is, if GM is saying it will fit the ZR2 in '24 then that either means the LZ0 intercooler system will get redesigned/repackaged or the ZR2 will get a front-end redesign. My guess is it will be a little bit of both. It stands to reason that if they've figured out how to make this work on the ZR2 and given the nearly identical lower front end design between a ZR2 and Z71/AT4, then they'll figure it out on the SUV platform as well. I guess we'll find out more as they reveal more details on the upcoming SUV refresh...
