Well fellas did another run to big bear. Filled up the tank and added Lucas upper cylinder cleaner. 3oz per 10 gallons. On the freeway where it was flat. The Denali was staying at around 19-20 mpg. Doing about 65-70mph on cruise control. Not bad for an old girl.
Welcome to my neck of the woods! Question for you, did you fill up your tank in big bear? Or down below? I ask because I heard a while back that the gas stations up here add a little antifreeze into the gas tanks to keep the fuel from freezing during the colder months of the year. I don’t know how true that is but I wouldn’t be surprised by it if they did. Up until last year I would run the Lucas oil injector cleaner through at every oil change. But now during the winter months I run the Lucas oil through my tank about once a month just for kicks and I figure it won’t hurt…. Lol

seems to do better in the winter when I run the cleaner through more than just at the oil change interval.

Having 2stroke race bikes and chainsaws over many years, 2 stroke oil was always a concern. Many different ones that seemed to change almost yearly. The TCW-3 was always on the low to mid range of testing, and JASO FD at the top.
I noticed an improvement in combestion chamber deposits and wear on the 2 stokes using FD oils. And whenever my fuel mix got old (90 days)it went in the trucks tank. Cleaned intake valves pretty good.
ATF 1/2 qt. was used in the oil of a new old vehicle acquisition to clean and desludge.
Bob is the oil guy is a reasonable place for info.
