Hey question for you... how hard was changing the paint? I mean did the paint shop paint your door sills and engine bay or what? Victory red is not my favorite color on these and my wife and I would really rather have the Indigo Blue Metallic, Tuxedo Black, or Pewter.... but I don't want to change colors and still see friggin' victory red every time I open the door or the hood!

Depends on how much you pay... maaco or earl schibe ain’t gonna jamb the car but a custom paint/body guy will, for the right amt of money, which naturally will be more. Technically you can clean and scuff your jambs and engine bay, pull the door panels, tape everything off and rattle can those areas before the truck gets shot. If you have someone do whats called a ‘complete color change’ which includes what you want you’re going to pay more

Yeah I knew it would cost more... I guess I was more asking on the DIY side of it and if he did it himself or paid the shop to do it.

I shouldn’t have said anything, we got a hail storm last night and now they’re calling for rain for a week lol

Wife drove through a hail storm on her way home the other day. Thankfully, she got home safe and there was no damage to the truck.

Yeah, that's one of the reasons I went with the BMW Azurite Black. In some light it has almost a super dark navy blue look to it, so it goes with the old blue paint fairly well. I could have paid like $75 a piece for the door jambs, but I don't really care that much. Of course if they were red, I might have a different outlook.

Thanks for the info. I think we're probably just gonna give the red a go. I ended up finding a few GMT800 Tahoe pics in victory red that I actually like. If anything, might just go with a different shade, but I think it will be less headache to just keep to some form of red.

I also finally got up the nerve to drill holes in my roof for the smoked led cab/running lights that I've been wanting to install for a while now. For some reason I accidentally ordered white, so I didn't get to properly seal it up until I get the amber leds in later today. I'll post some night pics later today.

I may have missed it, but what cab lights did you use?

Hey, sorry I just saw this. I got this set from eBay. I went with ones that used replaceable bulbs as opposed to the hard wired LEDs so I could replace them if they burn out. I ended up getting brighter amber LEDs since the ones that came with the kit were pretty dim.

Well thanks, man! Glad it helped you out a little. Definitely takes a little time to get them right where you like em...then you come on this forum and someone has done something kick ass that you have to add to your list.
