Auto climate control question

When I use the auto function I hear what sounds like my ac compressor cycling on and off. Since it's in the forties I doubt itsi the AC.

What is it?

Pretty sure it is your AC compressor.

AC compressor. AC is either on or off. To maintain ANY temp other then full cold it has to turn off periodically. Same way an air compressor does to maintain pressure in the tank for air tools.
