I have a 02 Yukon Denali, 166,000 miles. My Auto ride system is shot, I do not want to spend $1000 + dollars repairing/replacing the system because of the miles. Has anyone tried the Monroe Conversion Kit? If it fits it seems like a good alternative to bypass the air ride system. Any other recommendations are welcomed.

I have a 02 Yukon Denali, my Auto Ride System is shot. My truck has 166,000 miles so I don't want to spend $1-2,000 repairing the AR System. I know the Arnott Kit is an option, but with install, I am still close to $1000.

Is anyone familiar with the Monroe Conversion Kit, I know that it is designed to replace the air ride system, which is ok with me. My questions are does this really work and what is the quality of the ride after install?

I think a few guys have used the monroe kit on the boards and they liked it. Hopefully they see this and reply.

I got sick of replacing compressors on my yukon so last fall i replaced the autoride shocks with billstein 5100`s And could not be happier with them. I bought resistors to make the service suspension message go away but haven`t installed them yet.

I just installed the Monroe kit and a Dorman compressor on my 2002 Yukon Denali. Easy install and works great. To clear the service ride control I disconnected the battery. Waited 5 minutes to clear memory and removed the RTD fuse (30 amp) in the under-hood fuse/relay box. Then connected the battery. Then re-installed the RTD fuse. Service message gone. The Dorman is true plug and play. Rock auto had the best price on all the components - plus found a 5% discount code on line. Vehicle rides good and auto-level works good. Biggest pain in the neck is installing the 2.2 ohm wirewound resistors(they fool the ecm into thinking the solenoids are connected). Make sure you have a roll of scotch 33 tape and some ty-wraps. I never jacked the truck up, just turned the front wheels and removed the inner fender aprons. Sure did save a bunch of money over repairing with GM parts.
