I agree, would love to have a manual tranny in my Yuk. I remember driving a 93 silverado with the 5.7 that had a stick. Actually learned to drive a stick in that truck. Let us know what you find. Probably more trouble than its worth, but way cool anyway.

I'm working on it right now in my 4 door, swapping in an NV4500. Ive got most of the parts needed except for the clutch, master and slave cylinders and I still need to rebuild the manual t-case. Mounted my clutch pedal and cleaned up all my under dash wiring today

All the holes are premarked in the cab and it has the upper bracket for the clutch pedal, so the swap is pretty straightforward. There's a thread over on FSC by 88GMCtruck in the projects section it's a long read but there's tons of info in there if you take the time to read it. The gear ratios are almost identical to the 4L60E but with the benefit of having a 5.61 or 6.34 low gear and a pretty much bulletproof trans

Ther's already been a couple SUV's complete the swap as well as some trucks. A couple videos that they've posted up that serves as my motivation

Probably save a lot of trouble building up the 4L60E, and more fun to drive, too.

No problem man, if you need a clutch pedal let me know, I have an extra one from a 92-95 truck

If you can find a complete donor truck that's the way to go, collecting all the little parts and pieces will nickel and dime you to death. Ask me how I know
