So how do you activate it or even know if you have this option?

my wife said she had a bird fly in front of the truck in a parking lot and it slammed the brakes on her. I've had it first hand backing into a parking spot and it slammed the brakes on me 2 ft before the curb thingie. It hits so hard you'd think you actually hit something, when you activate it you KNOW it.

Ha! I dont think ill try it on the house. Its vibrated my seat a few times and projected a red light on the dash once but ive never felt any brake application. Would it be included in an 2015 LT w luxury package?

Make sure you ask your dealer if you have the latest update, for Cadillac owners there was a CUE update back in Dec that finally activated front braking

I found out the hard way that prior to this update in Dec, the front braking in the Cadillac was not properly working

Or, maybe Chevy and GMC were working correctly all long

Had to order my LTZ to get the ACC. I absolutely love it and it baffles me why it is so hard to find sitting on a dealer lot! My Tahoe will flash a red light in the dash and slam on the brakes if a car pulls out in front of me really close, or I've even activated the auto brakes by pulling into a parking lot or garage to fast. Overall it works really well, and the ACC is an absolute lifesaver for long interstate trips. You just can't fall asleep and stop paying attention to the traffic because you will end up following the slowest car on the road if you never pull over to pass!

I would never buy a vehicle with it until they have a disable switch. The braking is far to harsh. Where I live tailgating is so prevalent its scary to drive under normal conditions but when you have no control to moderate the braking its not good.

I've had my 2016 Yukon XL for almost a month now.
It came equipped with Forward Collision Alert (FCA), Active Cruise Control (ACC) and forward automatic braking.
The automatic braking works fine when ACC is engaged but does not seem to work if ACC is not engaged.
In addition, when ACC is engaged, the little green car icon (in FCA) changes to amber (like it is supposed to) as I get close to a followed vehicle, but NEVER changes color if ACC is not engaged. I can get right up to the rear bumper of the vehicle in front of me and the icon remains green.
I've read and re-read the owners manual and I find nothing that says that FCA and automatic braking only works when ACC is active.
Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?
Thanks

Same here wrt front braking and ACC, see video

Contrary to how it was advertised, the front braking does not "work" at low speeds unless ACC is active - which actually defeats the purpose of a low speed front brake

To clarify...braking ONLY works if you have acc SET to a speed right?

Annoying because I find the acc sooo annoying even with the smallest gap set.

Wish I could turn off acc and turn on non acc 'panic' braking.

So
