Hi all - I was wondering if I could get some assistance from someone who might have put a Pioneer Avic z150bh unit in their truck.
I had one installed about a week ago and pretty well have all the kinks ironed out now. I was able to get a couple videos encoded in a way that the unit liked, and put them on a SD card. They play awesome on the front screen of the avic itself, but the rear screen (stock GMC rear screen) is blank. I do get a picture if I pop a DVD in though. I changed the rear display setting to "mirror" what is on the avic itself, but still a blank screen. Any ideas? Thanks!

This is off topic but how do you like the unit. I am considering getting the same unit cause i really dont like the factory nav and I also want to upgrade the bose system. Does the steering controls work with it.

I like it a lot. I'm just getting into using it, took a couple trips back to the installer to get everything going. Steering wheel controls still work. My only complaint at this point is the apparent inability to play anything on the rear screen except a DVD. Maybe I just haven't figured out the right combo yet

I have that exact screen with RSE oem unit in the back. You need this:

My avalanche came with just a normal radio so I originally upgraded it to the factory nav screen. It sucked. BAD. So I got the z150 and I LOVE it. Bluetooth calls and audio works really well and it's nice havinga 7" screen versus the factory 6.5". Some of my friends actually thought it was factory because it looks so clean and doesn't have a bunch of stuff on the face other then the screen and some small buttons on the bttom. You can get steering wheel controls to work if you get the adaptor. I did and they work great. You can also get an aftermarket XM tuner if you use XM radio and use the XM factory antenna instead of an aftermarket one.

Interesting Felixgun- they must have used something similar when they hooked mine up since I do still get DVDs to play on the Rse, but no ipod/usb/sd. Is that just a matter of Rse harnesses not being created equal? I might grab one of these and swap it out to see where I get, especially if you have the same setup and yours works.

Felixgun- I'm having some issues with car toys on this and am about at the point of just doing it myself.
Just to clarify, with that harness are you able output DVD, iphone and sd card video to the rear? And do you have an iphone 5?

Alright. The rear screen will only play a DVD. It can not display anything else. It has to do with the video outs on the Pioneer unit. If you can play dvds and they show up on the rear screen, you have everything connected the way it is suppose to be.

Hmm, that seems odd to me. Ipod/iphone video is an option for output to the rear video, the unit says that output quality may be reduced for ipod video to the rear screen, which leads me to assume it should be sending something to the rear screen
