I rented a 2016 Yukon XL from Avis. Drove it 500+ miles. No vibes, no drones, no buffets. Perfectly fine. Actually a nice truck. If I was in the market for a new one, no hesitations about buying one.

I also got a Yukon from Avis, in Chicago last winter. At the time I was driving a BMW 5 series and the Yukon felt enormous to me. But I liked it and the seed was sown.

Now the 5 series lease is over and I purchased a Tahoe. It felt big to me for about a week, then it just felt normal. I'm very impressed by the comfort and equipment level at the price. Obviously BMW doesn't compete directly with the Tahoe, but in a general sense the truck is proof positive that American manufacturers can field products that are entirely competitive with the Germans.

glad to hear, however, from most feedback re the 17s, the buffeting and vibration issues have not been fixed.

I was in Indianapolis on Monday and Tuesday of this week to evaluate the Interactive Intelligence contact center telecom solution. There were several co-workers with me so Enterprise upgraded me from a smallish SUV and put us in a 2016 Suburban LT. As soon as we hit the highway a co-worker says "What is that noise? Does someone have a window open?" While cruising in the 65 to 70mph range there was a distinct cabin noise and pressure that I absolutely do not feel in my 2016 Tahoe LTZ. There also was a steering wheel shake (I drove). Interestingly enough, of the 5 people in the truck, only 2 people complained. One person didn't notice it at all.

Reading threads such as this one has made me sensitive to the issues other have been experiencing but I personally would not classify the experience in the Suburban as a "show stopper" although I will admit it was a bit annoying.

The truck had Goodyear tires (I made it a point to look) and I suspect that the tires were to blame for at least some of the conditions plaguing that SUV.

yep, that's been the consensus. I've driven multiple (8+) burbs, XLs and they all have the issue at varying degrees. Even within my own family, some didn't notice a thing while others almost became sick.

The 2 people that complaint. Where were they sitting?
