awakening my vortec? need advice

I have a 98 hoe with the 5.7 vortec completely stock other than a cherry bomb muffler and lift and tires. I want to pull some power out of it but i don't wanna spend an arm and a leg. I thought of rebuilding my heads, doing a tow cam, full exhaust system, e fans, and a tune along with a nice tune up( msd or acdelco). Any advice will help at this point.

Advice from Monster on efans...HA!.

Seriously a tune by itself will do a lot but if you got some dough lying around do a CAI, MSD ignition upgrade, full exhaust and tune. You will be quite satisfied with that and you don't have to crack open your block.

Intake of some sort. Or you could build you own. It's really not too hard

Exhaust work. A quality muffler will help a lot. Headers if you want to spend the coin on them

Ignition, Plugs, Wires, Coil and Cap would be good for a stock motor.

Tune. Blackbear Performance

Gears. What size tire are you running? 33's, 35's, 37's?

Transmission, shift kit and/or a servo would be a good upgrade.

If that's not enough for you, then either pull the motor and rebuild and stroke it to a 383. Or LQ4 swap it.

Or you could try searching for your answers. Like none of us have ever modded our vortec's/350's...

Sorry it took me so long to reply guys. I'm running 35's with 373 gears and everything stock except exhaust. And I'm curious, Wat exactly are spider injectors? And does anyone have a good website where we can get this stuff decently priced? Thanks again
