I know this topic has been covered on here multiple times, but I had a few questions for my 2003 5.3 2wd (for now) Yukon SLT. I got my hands on the front carrier assembly for $25. One hell of a steal. I also have an AWD transfer case from a Denali and a 4x4 4L60e I'm currently building. All that I need is the front driveshaft, front CV's and the 4x4 hub assembly's if I'm not mistaken? Is there anything else? The frame should have the places to bolt up the front carrier in.
Currently have a few questions:
Has anyone put a Detroit Tru-Trac in the front diff? I'm not too familiar with these housing yet, but my rear diff is a true-trac and I love it! Stock ring and pinion in rear
Also, will I need to re-gear? I know the front and rear need to match on AWD systems and I don't know if the 6.0 Denali came with different gearing than the 5.3 2wd SLT.
Finally, Is there anything else I'll need to finish the swap, or is it not possible to do on these models.
