I took her out to a snowy parking lot and rolled down my window to look at the front wheel. she slapped me with a bunch of snow and said im working!

so it does work as indicated above. It just doesnt decide where to put the power very quickly.

maybe the newer models have a faster brain.

Great follow up! Its always nice when someone takes the time to post the resolution or explanation in your case.


I had the basic idea of how the transfer case worked with the fluid heating up, but I like the write up you attached. Do you have a link to the original?
What I am really after is a copy I can save, like a PDF, something other than screen shots.

tire size

I've read ridiculous stories about tire diameters/wear with AWD systems. Looking at the schematic and the specific warning:

Tow with only two wheels down
Drive without one propshaft

Drive with a "donut" spare tire for an extended period of time

Is it safe to assume this system is much more forgiving if different tires sizes are on the vehicle? I'm talking about tires of the same size with different tread depths OR tires of the same "printed" size from differing manufacturers?

07 yukon denali specifically...
