AWD system on my 01

I have been toying around with the idea of eliminating my AWD. I think it's one of the best out there and I feel it does a better job than a std 4x4. The main reason is I just don't have the need for it. in the last 5 years I needed it maybe 10 times and out of the 10 times they were a trip to Sand Lake where a 2wd wouldn't cut it. I have a 2wd 4L60e and a rear drive line for a 2wd Yukon XL, I also have new unit bearings for a 2wd. it should be a simple plug and play with the trans and drive line. Will the ECM even notice it missing? There are no electrical connections on the front dif and the transfer case is all mechanical.

would it be worth my time to sell all of the AWD parts? the front diff has a fresh rebuild on it with less than 2k miles on it.

your thoughts would be appreciated.

It's a decent amount of work to do but honestly, is it worth it to do all the work just to remove it?

If you decide to sell it (t-case, front diff, driveshaft) i'm interested...lol. I'm thinking of going 4wd to awd...

it's really not that much work, the front diff and axles can be out 30min. I was planing on rebuilding the trans soon so I thought I would do it then. Just have my 2wd trans rebuilt and everything would be out for that so another 30min for the front diff and axles and put it back together with all the 2wd stuff.

my front diff has less than 2k on it and the transfer case is still the original. I have always used Amsoil in them.
