So, as most who travel, I always suffer from, “I can’t see the GPS” syndrome. Well not any more! I found myself never using the top slot of the “GMT Smoker’s Package” center console spaces. So, I thought to myself, what can I put in that space! Well, low and behold, I found an old computer hard drive bracket, and found it to be the exact size of my Garmin GPS. So with a little effort, and a nice tap into the fuse box, I added another 12 aux outlet behind the dash, that my gps plugs Into. I have it wired to only be powered while the vehicle is running, as I figured that would be enough time to charge it up if it ever gets low. I think it looks awesome, and it’s in the perfect place!
And another thing I dove into, was using the space for something maybe not really useful, but I think it’s pretty nifty! The second row, I had the back seat radio controls, which after my double din radio install, were no longer needed. WARNING: Here’s comes a crazy, dumb, yet groovy idea and install!!
—I found some super cool thick engraving plastic that was reflective with green underneath. So, I traced a Chevy Bow tie, drilled some small holes to let light through, and added an RGB strip light to a small box I added to the back. With the help of a little hot glue, I had it secured to the back of the plastic!
So here they are! The two(somewhat drab, but nifty) things I threw on today. Whaddya think?
