The driver's side backrest will not heat on its own (if I hit the top switch). The switch will light up for 10 seconds, then I hear a click, and the lights go out 5 seconds after.

It does seem to heat if I use the switch for both the seat and the backrest.

What could cause this? A bad switch?

This is for my '07 Tahoe.

Well, the backrest heats perfectly when my husband sits in it, so there must be a pressure switch that I'm too light trigger.

Nice that Tahoe isn't broken, but sucks because I'd use that feature often.

I'm not certain, but I don't believe it's a pressure switch. Sounds like something else is going on. Are there two bottoms for the same seat? (ie one for the seat and another for the lumbar?)

Yes, there are two buttons. The top does lumbar only, the bottom is for both the seat and the lumbar.

We tested it again today... I really got myself snug into the seat to get some more pressure on it and the heat finally stayed on. Then I let off the backrest a bit and the heat went off.

Maybe it's a safety feature?

i think they turn off after they reach a certain temp...so if its being used on a hot day, might mess with how long it stays on
