Backup camera + head unit install question

I have a 2008 z71 with no backup camera and non touchscreen radio. Was wondering if anyone had installed a new head unit and backup camera and got the camera to show through the head unit. If so what brands did you use and how do you like it?

I've installed 3 of these cams in different vehicles, they work pretty well. They worked with with Sony, Kenwood, and Pioneer head units.

I did a Pioneeer HU, an aftermarket backup camera, and a Maestro. Getting everything realigned in the dash was a bit of a pain, but it's a pretty straightforward process and I couldn't be happier with the result.

Just finished my Pioneer head unit, maestro RR, OEM camera until I find a nice quality aftermarket camera. Amp was added earlier with the lc7i.

As headala stated.... the getting everything back in that dash was a pain (2007 Yunkon XL Denali). I had to adjust the inside compartment a bit, tessa tape my heart out to make everything fit. trust that is the HEADACHE of everything imo.

I have the pioneer w4400. had to add on right angle usb extensions and hdmi in order to use. So... take a good look at the back of that head unit and begin mapping out how you will need to adjust for space. Good luck and dont fear cause ive used so many of the OG members post to guide me.
