I’m pretty sure I used a deep pan from Summit Racing. It adds about one quart. I was mostly interested in having a drain plug.

I have tried several electric exhaust cutout’s. The QTP (quicktime) lasted less than one day, and is built like a toy. The DMH is pretty good, but it has two problems. They use a machined lip on the aluminum body to stop the travel of the throttle type plate. There are no other stops on the movement, so after opening a few times, the plate goes past open, and begins to close on the back side, because of wearing the body stop.

It helps to have a tungsten halogen lamp in series with the motor to light up when it hits the end of it’s travel. At least that way, you know when to let off the switch.

The other problem with the DMH is the aluminum body will crack along the shaft from the motor, after it goes through a years worth of heating and cooling.

I use Doug’s Headers Cutouts. (link below) They just came out with a new model, that is different from the early version that I use. These guys make some serious cutouts. They are expensive, but you only have to buy them once. They are all stainless steel construction and will not fail. I still use a lamp in series with mine, just to have less wear and tear on the motors.

I never bothered to record the exhaust sounds, mostly because the turbos’s eat a lot of the sound, and it would never sound like any N/A engine.

I’m guessing you won’t want to spend the extra dough for the Doug’s headers version, so the second best in my opinion is the DMH.
