Then it is probably toast. No switch or button to test with. Easiest way to test is to load the back with something heavy....grab the family or a group of friends and pile them on the bumper. Then start it up. If you don't hear your compressor kick on to level the load, it's not working.

Hi guys,

Well I am yet another victim of failing autoride.....Thankfully it looks like a job I can do on my own! I am just having a hard time figuring out if I have leaky rear shocks or if my compressor is no good. I have a 2000 Yukon XL btw.

When my rig isn't under load (just me driving) autoride kicks in for a bit and than quits. I thought that might be normal. Once I load it down though (heavy film equipment, towing a generator) The compressor is on for at least 5 minutes, it shuts off, and than starts up again in another few minutes. Definitely seems leaky! I've even heard hissing coming from the rear wheelwells.

As I'm typing this I'm leaning towards leaky air shocks, but before I place an order over at Arnott's website I wanted to check with you guys and see if there's any tips out there on how to confirm what aspect of my autoride system has gone bad.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can spare me!
Just want to put this out there cuz reading this forum really helped me fix my problem and save tons of money...
Make sure your air hose from the compressor dryer (above compressor) is not pinched. I changed all 4 shocks and still heard the compressor running all the time. I checked the air hose and it was pulled so tightly up and harnessed the hose was in a V shape. I pulled some slack out and made a nice U shape and problem solved. I think they made this mistake at the factory cuz this is the original compressor. Now it hardly runs and it’s quiet when it does...2000 Yukon SLT
