so my tahoe has an auto start. i went to use it tonight and it tried to start but didn't fully crank over. this has happened once or twice before. except this is a new problem that happened tonight. i didn't think it started but my headlights and radio was on so i went in and started it with the key. i have a 7" flip out pioneer and it went all back to factory settings when i restarted the tahoe. does this sound like a battery issue? the other times the truck did this, the headunit was fine. although, i think the other few times it did this before, i restarted the truck with the remote. i'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.

sorta sounds like it, if it turns over fine with using the key regularly, might lag on turning over with using key regularly if battery is on its way out. start it up and measure your "igniton on" voltage(the volt meter i keep in my truck has a dial gauge selector and is set to 40v), atleast 12v. let it run for a minute to see if you get to that. turn the truck off, put your meter leads back on the terminals and if it quickly starts falling down below where your first reading was, time for a new battery.
ok i will try that. will a battery issue also cause not to have a window go down when the key is just turned to run or when i was working in my truck the other day with it off and i closed the door and when the dome light went off the gas gauge needle went from empty to about 3/4?
