Ive only been driving my truck for about a month. I recently went on a camping trip and i noticed while accelersting going up hills it starts to smell bad. The fumes get pretty strong. Also i smelled it yesterday when i was driving on the highway and got on the throtttle to pass someone. Is that a bad cataylc converter? No lights and my mpg is at 11.9. I do a lot of city driving id say 75% city driving

To check your cat pull the 02 sensor and put a Guage in the exhaust. Lisle sells one. Or you can try the temp test but it's not ass accurate imho

I should mention that the gauge goes in the o2 sensor in front of the cat. Your upstream sensor.
