barely getting heat from vents on 02 yukon

1st time posting on here so bare with me on my Yukon my front vents blow warm air my back let's blow a little bit warmer than that neither one hot when I turn on defrost gets even cooler coolant is full I flush the heater core and change thermostat I did notice that I'm only going when the car is warm and around 500 or just over so last night I sit there with rpms running over a thousand sitting in driveway it seem to get hotter my next stop was the impeller on the water pump is getting worn out but I have never run into that issue before any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance

Sounds like a blend door issue, it may no be fully diverting the air to the heater core.

I agree with 01ssreda4. I had a similar issue on my Yukon. The problem I had was that during the summer I was only getting hot air coming out of the vents. I actually found some great discussions on here about the blend door issues. I found out that the Yukon actually had more than one blend door. You could google blend door issue for Yukon and it should actually bring up the discussion from this forum discussing that issue. You will need to find out which blend door does what so you will know the location of the blend door actuator you need to replace. The one I had to replace was under the glove box on the passenger side. Hope this helps you out. If not, please feel free to message me and I will help as much as I can.
