Running a yellow top Optima in my rig right now, did have to return & get a new one after about 6 months as it failed at holding a charge but 3 year warranty?! Have had some success with Odyssey as well but a little more expensive than Optima

i thought optima had the lower warranty and red had higher warranty? I used to have a yellow optima but was told batteries like DieHard gave a better value. Appreciate the feedback, will compare prices.

Since I discontinued using Optima batteries after almost two decades I switched to Bosch's AGM made by East PEnn / DEKA. Bosch ended their licensing agreement with Pep Boy's. They rebranded their AGM as Champion AGM, like the spark plug company. Johnson Control makes the Champion AGM batteries :) .

All four of my vehicles now run Champion AGM batteries made by Johnson Control who manufacture Optima batteries. HA! I found the biggest AGM battery for our power hungry Esky which is the H7-850CHAGM. It barely fits in the tray and kisses the overflow tank but for 1000 Cranking amps @ 32* and 850 CCA with a 4 year no hassle over the counter warranty, you cant beat it. When they go on sale expect to pay about $170.

The 07-14 have smart charging systems. They'll properly maintain an AGM battery including battery sulfation mode that determines the correct charge protocol to correct plate sulfation condition.

Here's what I have in the Esky. Purchase it over the counter from Pep Boy's if you decide on this one. They closed all their retail part stores and only have service bays now. If you want an AGM with a little less performance but made by DEKA, Sam's Club sells Duracell AGM for a little less with a 3 year over the counter warranty.

My yellow top optima is going on 5 or 6 years of heavy use, between audio, electronics, air compressors, and power inverters. Has been a really good battery BUT I read a lot that they aren’t as good as they used to be. Unsure if I bought mine before or after they started being made poorly.

I heard the same but that was around the time I bought my Die Hard which was about 6 years ago. Just came from Advanced Auto and confirmed all is good except my CCA is low, down to 209. Definitely grabbing a battery tomorrow. Debating between the

leaning towards the Champion since it has similar features to my current die hard but the DieHard is cheaper and I can get it today...

After further research and a good night sleep, I decided to stay with what has done me good and go with the DieHard Platinum. I wanted the higher feature Champion but the DieHard seems to provide same specs as the previous DieHard Advanced Gold battery did. If I can get same life as I did before, it seems like a win.

Grabbed the DieHard Platinum. I was tempted to grab the H7 version for same price and has higher CCA and all but I was too scared of fitment so I punked out lol
