I just bought a 15 Tahoe and seller said needs a battery. I bought it and drove to walmart and bought one. the next morning it was dead. you can drive it all day turning it on and off, but it will be dead as a hammer in the morning. So i have some sort of parasitic draw. I pulled the radio fuse one night to see if that helped (20 amp on passenger side of dash) because the radio stays lit when vehicle is off like a black screen but lit up. Well that didnt do the trick still dead the next morning. has anyone had a similar issues and know where i should start testing for a draw?

hooked it up to the scanner at work and it showed codes for the liftgate such as short to battery license plate lamp and lift gate module incorrect data

well at least that gives you a place to start, on these newer trucks if a module doesn't power down then it keeps the whole system alive and kills the battery instead

So far I have changed the harness in the liftgate, and put a new module in (and had it programmed). I am $700 deep in parts and it is still not fixed. You can unplug the middle plug on the module and it wont die overnight the radio shuts all the way down and everything is normal besides you cant use the liftgate. I am leaving the panel off and just crawing through to plug it in if I need to open it. Yesterday I unplugged the latch and left the module plugged in to see if it could be the latch, and it was almost dead again after a few hours. I have no clue what to do.
