Your floor shifter is instant? As in no delay? Mine works great and always has but I have a short delay that gets aggravating pretty quick. I know there is a product on the market that eliminates the delay I know I see, but I can't find the link or remember what it's called.

Yes mine is instant. No delay. Pull back at any speed and viola! Instant 4x4. I've done it on Hwy#400 at speeds upto 140kph(90mph) with no issues. Pull back and it starts to make the usual 4x4 front end growly noises and pulls imediately. There is no grinding or any other issues.

Aren't all floor shifters that way with no delay? My old highschool s10 was, the K5(when hubs engaged), Tracker(when hubs engaged), the Jeep. Just pull the handle and go. Why would there be a delay? Isn't the front axle of the Yukon engaged all the time too? With the front drive shaft spinning all the time, but the transfer case not engaged?

Maybe it's a CDN option? Mine is a 99 with a floor shifter and no one else appears to have one.

EDIT: Posted this before you added the rest. LOL. No, I don't have one of these.
My front tires are fine, although, I've just replaced every single front end componant with Moog parts a few months ago, as described in post#15 HERE. Again, isn't that how everybody's is?

Mine has a delay of about 15-30 seconds. Sounds like procomps does too. I don't know maybe they redesigned it in the later years where there is no delay.

unknown at this time.
It is actually the original actuator design that took a while to engage (about 30 seconds)the front is really cold weather which is why the designed a retofit for quicker response time but it may take a few seconds still. The old ones were design use a heated gas capsule to expand and push out so you can see why in really cold weather it would take longer.

The summit replacement would work you just have to remember to shift and unshift in sync with the t-case or it will mess with the electronic shifters or just put extra wear in either on the front axle assy. Not really a biggie I suppose.

I have a 99 hoe with the floor shift, and it engages instantly, works great. I prefer the floor shift, manual versus electrical.

Let's see... 165,000 miles, many miles off road, many winters in and out of 4x4, temps down to -40, speeds up to 70 mph, far too many miles on pavement, not one issue.

I have the push button autotrac transfer case in my 99 Yukon. I keep telling myself I'll get the Posi-lok thing when the front axle disconnect breaks or fails, but am "disappointed" so far. And I keep telling myself I'll replace the electronic case with a manual case when the actuator fails, but again, "disappointment."

By '99, GM had pretty much worked all the bugs out of the 4x4 system on their trucks, so you shouldn't have anything to worry about.
