Does anyone know how to rebuild an alternator to give it more amps, 220 - 250 Amps? I heard stuff about kits but I couldn't really find one.:emotions122:

Save yourself the time and money and buy an DC alternator!
You can also increase the stock alternator output by roughly 30% by installing the smallest overdrive pulley you can find.

I had a local auto electric shop rebuild the alternator on my Jeep. More output for less money than a replacement part. And it works better than anything I could have done... :)

Most of the time when you get an alternator rebuilt, itll have higher output while revving and will do garbage at idle. Id save yourself the time and save up for a mechman or dc power alt...

DC power has a 300 amp although that puts out 225amps at idle. That's where my money is going. wasted 600 clams on a local shops "custom" alt. shit for idle output and I blew the regulator twice at full throttle and rebuilt 2 other times for other crap. overdriven stock although didn't work for me either.

get quality otherwise u just putting a bandaid on a broken arm!
