Even measuring "wrong" (ground to fender) shouldn't throw us off 3/4 of an inch. The tire would have to lose enough pressure to drop the front 3/4" and it'd have to happen sometime while installing the spindles. I measured from fender to hub (correctly) AND fender to ground and all my numbers coincided. My McG spindles did not drop 2".
