Well, it looks like it was the compressor. It doesn't seem to be blowing cold air anymore. Just dropped $2600 on a rebuilt tranny for my wifes Honda Odyssey so this repair will have to wait. The weather is getting a little cooler now so I will deal with rolling with the windows down and sunroof open.

A buddy at work just replaced the compressor on his son's 91 ford 150 and said he had never done that before. He was told by the firestone mechanic that he and his son could do it themselves if he had just a little bit of mechanical skills. Guess I will wait until next year and see if I have the skills to do this myself.

Installing the compressor itself is not really that bad. To do it yourself you want to take it to a shop that can evacuate the freon for you and then put it back in when you are done.
