It is brake time. I Ordered both front and rear Bendix Ceramic Brake Pads for ’07 Tahoe PPV. Upon visual inspection, I found that the Bendix Ceramic Brake Pads was made in China.

Then I went Auto Zone, I bought top of the line in house, Duralast C-Max Gold ceramic brakes pads. Upon visual inspection, the brake pads was made in India.

See attached both labels on package.

For those components to stop a moving vehicle, I don’t want associate them with Dollar Tree’s and Wal-Mart’s items.

So, Where is the next auto parts store?

I talked to the guys at NAPA when I was getting rotors, and finding American made brake parts is getting harder and harder. He said that he is told that the EPA is running everybody out. The closest he could get to an American made rotor for my work car was steel that was made in the USA, and then it was shipped to China to have a brake rotor made out of the American steel. They have held up great. Better than the OEM ones did.

I understand looking for American made. I do too. Made in some of these Asian countries doesn't mean it's junk though. It is made to the specs that the company wants them made to. It used to be that people went to China for manufacturing to make cheap stuff. Now they are going there just to be able to survive.

many ACDelco parts are made in China.....its sad to see it!

What Ive heard is that many parts cannot be sourced from US manufacturing anymore because so many of the operations have dried up......so now we are being forced to buy from China. I think someone should have enforced higher import tariffs long ago to offset the Chinese slave labor.

EPA restriction have dried up brake manufacturing plants. Don't forget that way back in the day brakes were made from pure asbestos.

Try the dealer, but don't be surprised if you find out they're made overseas, too.
