Noticed one of my OEM LTZ20" wheels is bent pretty good on the inside lip. Never noticed any vibration and when I had the tires installed they never said anything about it nor does it leak air luckily. Just kinda curious how this may have happened. Obviously something was run over but on the inside seems strange its not easy to curb the inside of a wheel.

Anyone bend an OEM wheel like this or have one fall apart by continuing to run it? Bent rim.jpg

nope but it also depends on the severity of the damage. that bend is fairly minor and wouldn't be too concerned about it. can easily be repaired at any rim repair shop.

I have taken ball peen hammers to straighten and even a hammer and a block of wood. That impact may have damaged the inner lining of the sidewall when impacted and crushed. Low profile tires get damaged easier from that. I would also take it off and have it done on a spin balancer and watch the whole wheel and they can also move an edge close to it to see the variance. I bet it is out of balance. The spin balance will tell you a lot. I would break down at the same time and inspect the inner belts and sidewalls.

Well its a good thing I have the roadside hazard warranty on the tires. Might have to look for a new wheel. Honestly have no idea how this happened and a 50 side wall isn't crazy thin like some of the new trucks come with.

Some hit something, there are marks on the tire, no? Or is that your handprints on the words ‘inside’

Not sure my driveway is dirt so they tires stay pretty dirty. Yeah I suppose I did hit something just figured it would have been loud or rough enough for me to have been concerned.

Before the pandemic shut down, you probably hit a curb when you was leaving the bar. No wonder you don't remember. :chewie:

By the way, why did you post this in the Member's Lounge area?

I get it. Because it is a LOUNGE/BAR!
