Yes. I have beaten them back before on an alloy wheel with no cracking problems. I have dismounted the tire when the dent/bend was on both sides so I could inspect the inner tire.

My wife is an expert on doing that! But when I ask her how she does it, she says she doesn't know, didn't hit anything. Seven times...
I would have it straightened. Crazy that you were able to bend it with all that sidewall. The only wheel I bent was a 26 with barely any sidewall and you can be damn sure I felt and heard it. But as far as beating on it with a hammer, I was always told that’s for steel wheels only and you risk microscopic cracks or weakening when doing that to aluminum or alloy wheels and they might fail when you hit a big bump in the future. It’s not too expensive to have one straightened.
Own? Is this what everything comes down to? Your hurt feelings so you must flex your big arsenal with emoji's.
Is this what is called being owned?
Lighten up Francis!

going to work and it was 430am and dark AF is what did my wheel on my civic. well my second wheel atleast was damaged that way. the first one a semi was hogging the road and it was either get hit by a semi or off the hug the side. wish i knew your guy tho i was quoted 150 range by 2 shops for a similar bend on the first one.Must have been something in the road I straddled to hit the inside lip. No idea and I'm pretty **** about not hitting things when I drive lol. This is also the first thing I've owned with wheels larger than 17s. Shoot my Mercedes had 14s and I ran UTV tires on it
Got a quote for $50 to have it fixed and balanced so I'll do that sometime soon I suppose

I do work with aluminum the most metals and are certified both on TIG and MIG/MAG do also weld TAG even if we don't have it as a standard here. Hopefully I am not full of BS and can contribute with something. And when I see something do get out in the air that's totally going against the knowledge I have and I see can be dangerous I can't take your feelings in concern.
So once for all.
Don't hammer on on aluminum you will ruin the structure of the metal.
