I don’t but I’ll try to post some soon. I do hear it driving around town and highway. It’s noticeable but not obnoxious. I have 3 small kids and it doesn’t bother them.

What other mufflers did you try from borla or corsa

Tried the borla xr which was way too loud

Haven’t tried any corsa mufflers
had two different magnaflows, the 10416( also crazy loud and too much drone) and I also had the 11225(low tone, but didn’t sound nice)

Also a few generic brands but none worth mentioning.

The borla xs I have now really makes the best sound, barely any drone. And just sounds how our trucks should sound.

Def saves you money on cat back. Way cheaper and honestly just as good a sound. And you can use the money you saved for something else! If you were local in Los Angeles I’d have you hear in person

Okay great thank you for the info. ℹ️ just can’t justify spending $2000 on a cat back system. I’ll give your muffler a shot. Probably get the tips blacked out too.

Yea I agree. That’s way too much to spend on something that doesn’t really give that much of a performance boost. I got some MBRP carbon fiber exhaust tips installed at the muffler shop. Looks clean.

I had a shop cut out the stock muffler and valve today and and put in this BORLA Pro XS Universal Muffler (#40359) on my 2023 5.3 Suburban with single exhaust. The drone inside is waaay too loud at 1800-2200 rpm. I don't know if it's because of the single exhaust, the stock turndown tip that's under the rear, or what, but I'm gonna have to figure something out to get rid of the drone. Either a resonator in front or swap it out for a different muffler.

Here's a quick clip of the CORSA Performance Sport Catback Exhaust I just put on my 2025 Yukon XL AT4 Ultimate ( 6.2L ).

That is why I am hesitant to change anything on the exhaust. I hear all of these trucks and they sound good, unloaded, but I pull a travel trailer several times a season and I can imagine they would drone at certain RPM's. I have the stock 4 tip exhaust and it sounds good, maybe a little quiet but I am not ready to change it yet.

Hey fellow members,

Newbie here and trying to educate myself. We'll be purchasing a 2023 Tahoe RST (5.3L) and looking for a better exhaust note (growl) and improved engine performance. Been reading this forum and curious about the Borla vs. Corsa debate and this thing called CarBYTE.

For a more "muscular" exhaust note, seems like just the muffler will work (vice purchasing cat-back). Thoughts on this?

CarBYTE...help me better understand why I would need something like this.

Thanks for your time,

Barry

The Cat back system will run $2000-$3500 and may give marginal increase in HP/Torque but most drivers will not notice it. GM performance exhaust system is around $3000 and they claim increased HP/Torque so they must have done some testing.

If you just want the better sound just switch the muffler and/or remove resonator. This will be cheapest and even if you have a good shop you can try a couple different mufflers and still be way under the price of a cat back system. Purists will say the cat back system is the best way to go.

I am interested in the carbyte simply because it disables the auto stop feature that is so annoying. Yes you can just push the button but I think it’s worth it just to get rid of auto stop and any thing else is just a bonus. From what I understand it is plug and play with absolutely no modifications needed.

BacDoc,

Thank you and appreciate the Intel on the exhaust/CarByte. As you mentioned, I'm inclined to do the muffler vice the cat back system. Good to hear CarBYTE is a "plug and go" system...definitely don't want to get into "tinkering" with any engine mods.
