Apparently my brakes are shot.
Audi dealership inspection said I had 60% plus left, apparently GMC dealership said I don’t, so now I’m going between audi and gmc to figure it out.

Audi is looking for the numbers and stuff from GMC, so I’ll send that over to Audi when GMC gives them to me.

Bought the car Friday from Audi of Tysons Corner, GMC got the car today by 10:30am.

Looking for best place to get pads and rotors.

GMC said $1400 for all 4 corners installed pads and rotors.

Not a terrible price from GMC. You can of course buy GM parts from Rock Auto, off Ebay, Amazon, etc. for less and then you have labor for installation and break in.

If you are mechanically inclined, you can do it yourself for less if you wish to spend the time. If yours were mine and I got that conflicting diagnosis, I'd be pulling a wheel on each side and inspecting the brakes.

%'s of brakes at different shops p*i*s*s*e*s me off. Who is referencing what? Audi says 60% and GM says you don't! Don't what! Don't have any left! Don't have 60% left but only have 40%! They should measure the thickness remaining between the rotor surface and the pad backing and then reference the OE thickness and then can GUESS at thickness. You never gave us mileage on vehicle. Is 4 years old but no mileage given. Never referenced front or rear or both. Was it 80% at rear and 40% at front and now average is 60%?

94k miles
And no idea, audi check list just check all 4 corners are green. (Green on the key means 60%+ of life left)

GMC said it had 3/32 I believe (no idea, picking car up tomorrow and going to send info to audi and see what they say.)

Just hoping/wondering to see if I can get something out of it.

I have a few open TSB’s they said.
Wireless charging pad harness thingy
Motor mount

Going to see if service contract will pay for those.

Also got a giant bill for 97,5k service.

Spark plugs and wires $900 (skipping out on wires and will head to my mechanic for that one)

And some other ones.

Looks through the wheels, do the rotors look grooved and rough? Are you hearing any odd noises, grinding/squealing? Not sure when buying used you'd have any expectations that the brake pads and parts were as new? 3/32s? That's a tread depth measure normally. Tires or brakes?

Almost all tread wear indicators are at 2/32's and at 3/32's thickness on bonded pad thickness, there is plenty before worries but is getting thinner. Is that at the front or rear or both?

Don’t know yet, I’ll have more info tomorrow.

If they don’t do anything, I’ll take it to my mechanic and have him install these.

I ran shops long enough to know, dealers are for "if you absolutely HAVE TO" situations. The shops I ran are for the customers that do not have the tools or the know how and is a shop that they have learned to trust. The rest of us can either do the work ourselves or are just too lazy/old to do and then we pick from the shops.

yep the autozone autoparts lifetime warranty has always came in handy just pay $50-60 for pads and never have to buy them again just take the worn out ones back and get brand new ones for free, as long as you own the vehicle........ Dealer is a one time shot and you are the money tree
$399+ per axle  nope, not happening
