You should be safe here in your Tahoe. After all, you will be on the right side of the road now and these rigs are like a big mobile mask.

I just bought a new Gates tensioner, pulley and belt and the new belt wouldn't fit on my 2015 Yukon Denali 6.2. The old tensioner pulley was squeaking so I replaced it and had to keep the original belt which has 160k on it. I checked the new belt to the old belt and even though they had the same numbers the old belt was more than a 1/2" longer than the new belt. I've pulled the new tensioner off and filed the stop so I can get more travel out of it and get the new belt to fit. Has anyone else seen this?

2015 is the NEWER direct injected engine..Maybe you got the wrong part number
2014- down would be the ones discussed here...
but it sounds like you got the wrong belt or wrong "kit" for your app
I wouldn't suggest modifying the tensioner.. It has a preset spring rate
to keep the correct "tension" on all the accessories
