Best way to Treat rust on underbody??

Guys Im cleaning and want to paint my engine bay area while the motor is out. What type of paint do you suggest ? rubberizied undercoating? high heat engine paint? It seems like it would be easier if I could find some paint in a can and apply it with a brush. Otherwise to me it seems like Id have a hell of a time trying to get in all the angles and cover everything. Please, anyone thats tackled this beast chime in.

A hightemp epoxy paint in a can would be a good option

POR15 works well, and the eastwood alternative does too even though it's cheaper. You can brush it on and it flattens out nicely. It can be topcoated with paint if you're trying to color match as well.

The most important step is to degrease everything REALLY good first.

gotcha....Im gonna brake cleaner the holy moly outta the bay today. Then most likely tonight Ill use some shit called rust convertor that turns rust to black paintable primer. Was gonna do the por 15 thing but this rust shit is the same thing. WHATS WITH RUBBERIZIED UNDERCOATING? WORTH MY TIME OR BS PRODUCT?

The rust converter stuff is not the same as POR15 or Rust Encapsulator. You remove the scale and big rust, hit it with the converter, then put POR15 on top of it to keep it from coming back.

I've used the lizard skin stuff a little bit, but it's not something I'd put in my engine bay. It's typically used under the body. I guess you could do it, but that's all on you.
