Recently bought an 05 Denali with 183.000 miles, replaced the blown out air ride suspension with shocks, etc. seems to run good and interior is in great condition. A friend is eyeing it and is hinting at buying it.

If I do sell it I want to go newer with the same basic truck. Any opinions on what year ~07 - ~11 do you think would be the best year etc. I'm thninking 2009 looks good so far. Looking for ~100,000 miles (or less!), from a rust free zone.

My budget is ~$20,000. Willing to travel a bit to find a real clean one.

Thanks in advance.

Finding a 09 Denali for less than $20K with less than 100K miles on the clock will be a challenge. After a long 4 month search, in July, I purchased a well-maintained 2008 Denali XL with 82K at a GMC/Cadillac dealer for $23,999. All the other trucks I looked at between 2007 and 2009 (100K + miles) were priced around $20,000 but were severely neglected trucks. I purchased a $0 deductable comprehensive service contract from the dealer that gives me 36 months/38K miles of additional warranty coverage. This was just for the peace of mind for my wife.

Thanks Chris,

I'm going to be patient and hope to get lucky. Any thoughts on any years between 2007 and 2011 that had better features or more failures?

AFM - thumbs up or thumbs down?

Well I'm looking for a newer Denali I'm wondering if the automatic fuel management has been a buggy issue and is it worth worrying about when buying a newer truck. I understand I'm buying a truck and fuel economy is going to be ferret best. But just wondering if the fuel management in general has been a competent part of the truck or has it been a headache for buyers and if it has can it be disabled?

Go 2009 or 2010 if you can find it in your budget with the miles you need.
