Found a place I can get brand new OEM replica headlight assemblies for around $100 total for both. Looks like I'm probably about to order a projector retrofit kit now. Get one thing done and always seem to have to start another!

It's a disease, there is no cure, only "treatments" known as mods

Well just ordered a complete projector retrofit with Morimoto Angel eyes. Should look outstanding with the dual LED switchbacks. If you're interested I found a place giving 15% off for Halloween. Installing in new oem replica headlight assemblies and all. Can't wait!

Sounds fun. You doing the install or having someone else do it?

I was going to do it myself but for only a couple hundred I figured its better to have a professional do it.

Your setup looks good! Are you going to change your headlights so they match the leds? That's the reason I put mine back to stock because the leds were too white for the headlights.

I was thinking the exact same thing. And as a result I ordered a projector retrofit installed in new oem replica headlight assemblies. I should be receiving them next week to install. I ended up doing the xbaLED Angel eyes as well in white to match the DRLs and I'm probably going to wire them together so they will be on during the day. Pretty excited for the end result.

How much was the total headlight retrofit? I was thinking of doing this but couldn't find any pricing on it.

I got a 15% off deal for Halloween special from visionautoworks.com (formerly rsxretrofits.com). Wasn't too bad at all. PM me and we can discuss if you'd like.

Also head over to hidplanet forum and it can answer any question you have regarding a retrofit including products, retrofiters, install, etc. I spent a few months researching products and companies before I ordered.

Ended up using Morimoto mini H1 35W at 5000k with E46-extended shrouds and white xbaLED angel eyes. Check out theretrofitsource.com for product info.

Thanks I will check into this info. Don't forget to post pics when you get it all done in curious to see how it will look.

This is exactly what I want to do with mine, except I'm thinking about just going with straight up amber instead of the switchback. The switchbacks look slick but I don't want to run HID in this truck without a projector retro, which I'm too cheap to drop the money on...and there's something that bugs me a little about two different shades of white light (white LED's vs halogen bulbs). So, amber it is. Thinking about trying the amber V3 Tritons from VLEDs, as they usually have a sale this time of year so I could get them a little cheaper.

Is it safe to assume that since the color changing for the switchbacks is handled by the bulb's internal circuitry, that the wiring wouldn't change at all with a solid color LED bulb?
