Has anyone swapped out the cam for a bigger one? If so, what did you use and how were the power gains? I'm considering doing this in the next year and curious if anyone else has?

One more important detail. I have an 09 Defender package, so none of that shutting off cylinder stuff. Yes, I did search and it said nothing found.....

I thought about it. When I talked to a buddy of mine that's a mechanic, he said that 5.3's and 6.0's require afm/vvt delete which can cost up to 1000-1200 dollars extra, plus the cost of the cam, push rods, labor etc... So you could be looking at 3-4K give or take. Too rich for my blood!

I do cam swaps all the time, on all of the 99 and up GEN III and GEN IV motors

It's easy to do, but yes it takes longer to do when there is a DOD/AFM involved. If you have VVT, Then it's just the same as a regular cam swap. It's nothing to be afraid about.

First off, what are your goals? More sound, more power, better gas mileage?
Do you have any other supporting mods to the engine? Ported heads, headers, CAI, lower gears?

Or did you just put a set of 33's on with 20"+ wheels and you want the stock power back and a little more, and make it have the "cam'n sound" to it?
