I don't know if they are the same/better/worse there but it was much easier to just run the wire from the crossover up with the mirror harness than to try and run a wire thru the door jam these newer trucks are more integrated the door jam harness has a multi pin connector right on the frame it would have been a pain in the ass to do. I could have just mounted them on the door panel also but figured I would give them a try there. right now they don't do anything even with the factory radio on full blast all they do is make a little crackly sound, lol they are 100W rms 300w peak infinity kappa's.

How did you mount them? Double stick tape?

no they came with like 3 different mounting options, the one I used just screws flush into the panel from behind the tweeter, then you make slotted holes to feed the wires thru then feed the wires in and then the tweeter twist's and locks into the round part. Otherwise I would have had to cut round holes to fit the other mounting plate in and there was no room behind anything to do that and I suck at cutting round holes. They should be fine there time will tell.

I hate cutting holes in anything--cause once removed, hole is still there.

that's why I opted to place them there that trim piece is easy to replace if they don't stay secured or are overbearingly loud

I wonder if it is less of an issue of power from the Bose amp and more to do with the amp limiting higher frequencies?
Did you try hooking up the tweeter without the crossover to see if it would make noise?

I suppose it's possible the factory bose speaker tested 1 ohm, these are 2.5 ohms. but the bose amp is going to get bypassed anyway tomorrow or monday, I thought maybe the crossovers or tweeters were bad but they worked fine in the house on another amp. I have a 6 channel jlaudio for the doors and dash and memphis mono amp for the subs

if there is some kind of limiter in-line on the door speakers and not from the amp I am going to be made as hell, lol
