Chauncey, I think the black hood looks ok temporarily however the contrast of the black seems to dulls the lines of the HD hood taking away its definition. Like the member said in your other thread you might want to check out some other painters. I agree with h'm that blending is mostly sales oriented.

Also, don't hesitate to go to a one man body shop who's real good but just doesn't have the huge shop and overhead. Those guys will a lot of times give you the best deal and may even do a better job :)

It looks good! When I was going to do the HD hood I was going to paint it black and then paint the outside parts to match. look at the pohots of my Ford Truck on here or can someone post one up I have no clue how but it allowed it to tie in.

Thanks for the advise, gentlemen. And thanks everybody for your honest opinions!

Just rock it. It really doesn't look that outta place. Just like said above, looks like progress. Did you ever adjust it to even the gap on the passenger side?

The painter you choose will have to remove the hood to paint. That is the best and easiest way. So I would just run the old hood until the new hood is painted. You are making double the work, lol. Just drop the hood off that way there is no down time on the truck! Why would you put on the new hood only to have to take it off? If you need advice I am in the business just ask bro.

It matches the winter wheels right now and there is no shame rollin' like that for now---but I think it will look 100X better painted to match ;)

it looks fine to me, especially considering it doesnt look stock. now if u were riding around with a stock red hood, thatd be another story...

Yeah I adjusted it a little and looks good. First time I moved it over too much but now seems just right!

They told me the best way would be to blend the fenders in to match better and with the car there, they could match the color better. The guy I bought it from let me test fit it to make sure it was straight and I drove home with it on.
