Were you able make the wrap go into the small grooves of the emblem? I want to wrap mine but don't know about the small grooves.

Yes, it shows the grooves, but you only see it when close up. When you heat the vinyl it starts to form around what ever you are wrapping. I did one letter at a time. Cut a piece that over laps the whole letter, smooth it out with my hand, then start heating with a hair dryer on high heat. While its hot, smooth it out as much as possible to get all air bubbles (if any) out and use your finger nail to push the vinyl in to the sides between the chrome and the red part. Once it cools a little bit use a razor blade to trim the extra off. I used the channel on the inside of the chrome surround.

I went to a wrap place today to get the fog surrounds done and the guy said he couldn't do it because vinyl doesn't adhere properly to any chrome manufactured by GM. Hadn't heard that one before and this shop was pretty well reviewed on Yelp.

He said my best bet was to scuff and paint. I actually may go that route anyway because on my Iridium wrapping black vinyl will look a little off (my goal was to try and find a wrap that either matched the Iridium OR the black ABS strip on the bumper...no luck on finding either after searching the ends of the earth). Actually my thought at this point is that I would get the closest to the ABS look with Dip or maybe some sort of truck liner coating.

Hmmm..that's weird. The first one I wrapped is starting to peel up in one of the deep corners, but I hadn't wrapped anything in a few years so i was a little rusty. The second one i did is holding strong. I was also using some cheap vinyl i got years ago. I just ordered some high quality vvivid vinyl and i'll redo mine. I'll probably end up just getting them painted, but Im afraid if painted i'm gonna have to worry about rock chips. I would imagine that a rock chip on painted chrome would show pretty bad.

I can see how a pro wouldn't want to have to warranty the wrap on the fog surrounds. The best way to do it, would be pulling the chrome apart from the ABS plastic piece so the wrap would go all the way around. The problem is separating the two pieces. They are melted together and different points. I'm thinking about getting these http://www.carid.com/2016-gmc-yukon-fog-lights/spyder-fog-lights-70820550.html experimenting with them. The stock replacements are like 75 bucks a piece.

Ya not a bad idea. Could probably sell them wrapped to a few people on the boards. Actually, just found these for about 20 bucks less:

The only issue is replacing them...does the bumper need to come off?

Keep us in the loop with the new vinyl...looking forward to seeing how it goes.

The bumper does not have to come off. There is one white clip and a 7mm screw that needs to come out. Both accessible from under the truck. Hopefully the new vinyl comes in today and ill take some pics of the install.

Hey guys/girls, Just wanted to say hello and post a pic of the grill I just put on. I bought the matte black Denali grill off ebay and had it painted black to match. I'll get some better pics eventually.

Does, the bumper have to come off in order to install the new grill?

Also, I like he matte look. Did you think the quality good enough to just install the grill as you received it from eBay?

Yes, the bumper had to come off to replace the grill. I followed the instructions that you can get from the putco grills.

The matte grill looks like an unpainted body part to me, but if the matte look is what you are going for, it would be fine. I didn't install it before I had it painted, so I don't how it would look on the truck.

This may be a dumb request but do you mind linking the vinyl product you used for the emblems? Never tried anything like this before but sounds pretty simple from your description.
