It's more inline with paint. It is a film, but it's translucent and has to be cleared over.

Only do it if you want a pattern, otherwise, do paint. Plastidip is a temporary alternative.

If anyone is looking for a spare 2015 Denali Grill to experiment with then message me. I caught a rock going down the road that chipped the chrome a little bit on the bezel of the grill, so I bought a new one and just replaced my damaged one. The scuff would need a little filler to make 100% before painting, but it could easily be covered. The Chrome surround actually comes apart from the grill as well if I'm not mistaken, so if you have a good one, you could swap to avoid any work. The GMC logo is also missing one of the clips, but it will pop off an can be swapped with your original emblem. It does not move or flap in the wind, just 1 clip is broken somehow and it's not 100% perfect. For those interested, I did have to remove the bumper to remove the grill.
