What's everyone's thoughts on the best way to black out the headlights? The plan is to paint the grille shell and billet grille black and either vinyl or plasti dip the bumper. I tinted the taillights with spray but I am afraid I might have to upgrade my bulbs if I spray the headlights. I drive 32 miles to work on a lot of county roads so just searching for the best option without upgrading bulbs for now. Thought about aftermarket lights but don't want to worry about moisture a year or two down the road.20160623_175828.jpg

I would not black out the headlights at all. If u want black headlights buy new headlights that have black housing. Other wise your visibility will suck.

Black Depo Denali projectors are cheap. Bought the black housing headlights first, the adjusters were crap. Depo ones are very nice for the price.

I went with Spyders black housings with smoked lenses. They do reduce light output a bit but I just upgraded my 35 watt HID's to 55 watt and that took care of it. The Spyders are pretty good quality. Here' a link to pictures. I tried to use TRS's Spyder Morimoto retrofits but they didn't work with these particular models. Still, these work well with HID in the projectors.

Man I absolutely love the look on yours! I am not real familiar with the HID lights and how all the different levels of brightness. How are the HID'S to install because I will definitely have to upgrade my lights going with the Spyder lenses? @Red Rocket

Where did you get the Depo ones? Can you provide me a link? Trying to find them but no luck.

That's one thing I am concerned about with blacking them out since I drive on county roads through woods to work. On the flip side I was concerned about moisture on the aftermarket lights after a year or 2.

How did you black out the factory housings? @YukonXL04. Did you actually pull the lenses apart and then reseal them?

Pulled the lenses off, put quad hid projectors in, trimmed shrouds to fit, painted housings black, installed shrouds, re sealed housings
