I am going to do it then!

Well, last night I got all the way to the part where I rotate the dash out of the way. I will dig in again after work. I ordered the part from the dealership and it will be here tomorrow.

Ok. So I got it done! That thread really was great at walking you through the process. I had a few more bolts to remove on the passenger side than he showed, but after that it went well. I had to trim the new box as well to make it fit easier, then it went right in. After reassembly, I checked the system, and everything went where it was supposed to. Now I have heat on my feet, as well as the other areas!

Another point. Do not roughhouse the shifter cable out of the bracket under the dash or you could break the plastic sleeve and then it won't work at all. Ask me how I know....sigh.

All in all not too terrible of a job. It looks daunting, but if you follow the steps it, it goes well. It took me about three evenings after work, taking my time to get it done.I thought taking out the steering column would be a bear, but it was one of the easiest parts.

Thanks for the help because mine is doing the same, don't want to tackle that but I miss my heat on the floor at my feet. I wiggled that rod to the flap and it is loose so that's my problem. Hope to tackle in the next two weeks. Going to order part next week. Eric thanks for asking, and Sunlit thanks for the detailed answers. I have a face book page "Midwest Old Body Style Tahoe's and Suburban's" and going to share this with everyone.

I have a question because I see myself replacing the upper case distribution box also. When you order the box, P/N 52467204, do I also need to order the 2 doors? P/N 52471363 and 52469350 or are the current ones reused?
