blew front left hard brake line tonight while pulling trailer with mower! I'm pretty sure it's the one that goes from ABS module to the front left caliper. has anyone replaced this? if so any tips or idea how long of new piece I need to replace it? or is the dorman stainless steel kit the way to go? any input would be great!

I blew a hard brake line a few months ago but it was in the back. Mine below because the shop I had re-seal the rear diff didn't put the bolt back through the "tie down" that holds the rear brake line steady. I feel for you. I had absolutely no brakes except E-brake and that was poorly adjusted and barely helped. Sorry I can't provide insights on fixing yours.

ive always just removed the solid line and measured it out. alot of auto parts stores sell premade lengths with proper ends already on them. after that time and patience in bending the hose into a usable shape. a little extra length won't hurt either. anywhere the pipe makes a straight line just add an extra bend to take up the extra length. just be sure to get enough proper bends so you can reattach it to brackets where the original one was.

Take a look at NiCopp lines. Good reviews and better corrosion resistance than the stainless.
I need to renew the brake lines too.... I have 2 sets laying here... the NiCopp. and the stainless steel from Dorman...
My question is... are the Nicopp lines SAFE for the use with ABS ? Here in Germany the TUV does not permit those lines because of the pulseing pressure while the ABS is working... So the stainless steel lines should be the "safer" way to go ...
But the rust resistance of the NiCopp seems to be better...
Any ideas ?

Nicopp? Or copper?
NIckel Copper.... as I wrote, here in Germany the TUV ( Vehicle inspection ) is against those Copper ../NiCOPP lines... because of the ABS System. therefor I am thinking to go with the stainless steel lines... - even if they are so rustproof

Nicopp are softer than steel and steel is softer than stainless steel, so in theory the softer ones will not last as long as the harder ones. I have not heard that Nicopp should not be used with ABS. TUV does go a bit overboard.

Having replaced brake lines myself with the bend your own steel lines from the AP store, I must say I would recommend the use of Nicopp. Look for 'Easybend' and use a flaring tool to make your own flares. Estimate the length, cut, flare, run the line, bend as needed as you go, use a pipe bender for 45 degrees and up.
Don't worry about running the line just as it was, just secure it well and protect it from chafing. Flaring steel lines with a standard flaring tool can be difficult and will ruin the flaring tool as the line slips in the flaring block.
