G2 is nice. I have that cover on an axle. I usually run generic 75 or 80-90 oil. I don't do synthetic as it isn't needed. Check Detroit's recommendation. I know ARB required something different.

The purple oils (Mystic or Royal Purple) are considered premium I believe. Mystic is cheaper. I've ran that a few times.

truetrac says dont use synthetic or it will void the warranty on the posi unit .

A quality petroleum/mineral based oil works best in the Truetrac units. We do not recommend synthetic oil. Friction additive/modifier is not required.

Clearance Issues?

I too want to go with a G2 diff cover. What is the clearance from the G2 diff cover to the panhard bar? I've been searching and searching. Found very little. Ran into this:http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forum/...road/433184-custom-tahoe-rear-suspension.html
